After a few months of delays, Firefox 3.1 Beta 3 is now available.  Get it here:

Most of the serious bugs found in previous betas of FF 3.1 have been fixed in beta 3.  This one seems to be much more stable.

    1. Willing to reveal my ignorance (never the only one, maybe): what’s the difference between the regular Firefox 3.1 and Beta 3? Is there? (If you say “google Beta”….)

    2. Sanda, a “regular” version is stable (doesn’t freeze up), and all its features work.

A “beta” version comes with no such guarantee. The programmers have released it in the hope that users will find out & point out what flaws the beta version has.

Also, do you understand version numbering?
Numbers to the LEFT of the decimal point represent big major changes; numbers to the right of the decimal point represent itty-bitty improvements.

So, BlahBlah version 1.1 is only slightly better than BlahBlah version 1.0, but BlahBlah version 2.0 is a huge improvement over both 1.0 and 1.1.

The exception to this rule is Windows 95: the other 94 versions didn’t work either!! ;)

    3. very valid points by sethness indeed.
