Several of you have written, wondering about whether it’s time to make the jump to 64-bit Windows 7. It’s a good question, and there’s no easy answer.

I give the issues a thorough airing in my Windows Secrets Newsletter Top Story for July 16. Check it out.

    1. Woody ~

I need to ask, is the Win 7 upgrade really all that important? I’m running Vista HP 64-bit, but the economy is starting to catch up to me, so I’m really wondering if I truly need to do this now?

I got in on the $50 deal through Amazon, so I know that’s a great price, but is the upgrade really all that necessary?

Also, If I should decide to hold off on the upgrade, will the MS essentials program with the free anti-virus software be available and work with Vista HP 64-bit?

      Thanks.

And, so far, MSE runs on everything I’ve seen, including XP and Vista in all flavors.
