However, A couple of weeks ago there was a problem with a Windows Defender update. It falsely identified windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file as having unwanted behavior. It seemed to clean okay, but then when you went to run Simply Accounting (probably Canada's most popular Accounting software for small business) the program, would not run. The fix was easy, just put back a line into the program, that is after uninstalling, reinstalling, then finally calling the company's help line and the next day there was a new update for Defender. I am inclined to wait a day before updating Defender now. I have always installed Windows Defender right away as well.
