Here, here. What bugs me most is that MS re-positioned Messenger as a social networking app, then took advantage of my old Buddies list. They shouldn’t be allowed to do that…

You do not have a right to privacy in Internet communications (Note Bene, VOIP users; e.g., Skype!) BUT I do have an EXPECTATION that if Microsoft or Facebook or Flash Player gives me Privacy Settings which I may select, that they should RESPECT my choices as expressed in my Settings. Without that degree of TRUST, we have no basis to do business with these web services.

And I personally downloaded the free pre-alpha VideoLan Movie Creator (VLMC) rather than take a chance on Microsoft Windows Live Movie Maker. Take that, Microsoft! Where’s your free desktop Version 3 which you guys promised for Windows 7?

If you use the internet, you do not have the RIGHT of privacy. Each and every hop has the duty to inspect, block, or forward your transmission.

And for the ISPs, the FED declares who you talk to is public, the content MAY be private as long as it doesn’t break their rules.

If you need “PRIVATE” communications, take it off line!!!
