With fourteen Security Bulletins around the corner, now’s a VERY good time to check and make sure you have automatic updates turned off. Follow the instructions in any of my books to turn it off, and wait for the all-clear.

It’s going to be a bloody Tuesday.

I’m moving to MS-DEFCON 2: Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don’t do it.

But what kind of time frame should we all waite till to install it. week two weeks or longer an it was the only .net Framework update i got (KB983583) the others were security patches for IE 8 an Xp. thank you.! Don’t worry about the .NET patches if you didn’t get them installed. Wait until we go back to MS-DEFCON 4 before you install them.

112? OUCH! Here in Patong it’s balmy as always. Beautiful outside.

    4. I’m not giving in to any of the newly released .NET patches nor the previous .NET security patches. I’ll just wait for the next service packs for the .NET Framework packages to be released and apply the new SPs instead.

For those of you using MS Office, better install the newest Excel and Word (Aug. 2010) patches as soon as possible. All the other patches for Windows and IE can wait.
