  • Microsoft patches are out and they’re duds

A very unimpressive bunch of patches this month. None of them even come up to the Microsoft-set level of “critical.”

Don’t worry about applying them, for now. Ultimately you’ll want to, of course, but right now sit tight and see if any of the patches hurt anything.

Better to spend your time watching Sinofsky’s keynote at the Windows 8 BUILD Conference.

    1. http://windowssecrets.com/
      has
      KB 2570947 Install it immediately
      Install KB2587634 if offered
      Install KB 2553073,2553089, KB 2553090, and KB2553074
      And
Recent updates for Adobe Reader include Versions 10.1.1, 9.4.6, and 8.3.1.

Given the spate of security issues with Adobe Acrobat, Flash, and Reader, it’s best to stay up on their latest updates.

    2. I definitely agree with the Flash and Acrobat Reader patches (although I don’t recommend using Acrobat Reader).

The MS patches can wait, though, I think. Susan and I occasionally disagree, and this is one of those situations.
