I like “Wetro” but somehow I don’t think Microsoft will agree.
C’mon over to InfoWorld Tech Watch.

I was wondering when this week’s “The Death of…” Tech story would arrive. If I had a nickel…

You’re a mind reader. I’m working on an article… if I can break myself away from the RTM copy. It’s really neat! I never thought I’d say that.

Actually, I was being skeptical and snarky. PC World seems to make the sweeping declaration of “The Death of…” every week or so.
But no matter. Continuing that (snarky) trend, let’s call Windows 8 the CAT (Charms and Tiles) and MOUSE (Most Objects we Use Still Exist) Operating System. Metro Style is the CAT and the “legacy desktop” is our (mostly) familiar MOUSE. And all that Tom and Jerry CAT chasing MOUSE analogy stuff.

I LIKE it!

Let’s hope the CAT never actually catches the MOUSE and eats it.
