I am not sure that a Tablet Device will be the only way to get the full Metro experience from Windows 8 Consumer Preview. Tablet-like USB input devices (like Wacom Bamboo) may offer substantially all the multitouch features needed to use MEtro much the same as on a little dedicated Tablet Device. For current AMD or Intel laptop and desktop owners, this means we should not need to purchase a new device just to try out Metro. Anyway, that’s how the Developer Preview seems to work. I don’t expect the best drivers right away, but non-touch computers are not out of luck here, AFAIK.
