I was stunned by how well Chrome works.

If you have Windows 8 RP, follow along with the steps in my InfoWorld Tech Watch article. Bet you’ll be surprised!

    1. woody, you are right. I have been using Chrome as my “legacy” browser in Win 8 since the DP, and it is a very good match between Chrome and Win 8.

In Metro, we’re still stuck with IE 10, but that isn’t much of a concern for me, as I seldom log on with my Windows Live ID, fearing the “social” aspect of that log-on method.

So for me so far, it’s Win 8 Pro, Legacy Desktop, and Chrome for the best combination — definitely NOT what Redmond wants us to do!

    2. Update — used the Chrome Metro version. Pretty cool stuff, but some Extensions work, while others don’t. NAPI Extensions aren’t supported in Metro. And that may be what’s keeping Firefox out in the cold.

    3. Those are NPAPI Extensions. Missed a letter in the acronym.
