Hey Woody!
Nice article and good choice of tools. Although we all have our favorites, i have allot of the tools mentioned in this article. I would like to propose a fewothers that you haven’t mentioned or maybe unaware of.
KMPlayer : http://www.kmplayer.com/forums/
I lover this one over VLC but, that’s my choice.
Cropper Capture : http://cropper.codeplex.com/
I find this screen capture very useful. Have been using it since XP.
Anotherone by the folks at Piriform would be
Speccy : http://www.piriform.com/blog/2012/1/24/speccy-v115Useful for info and temps.
BTW, your son looks very comfy in that seat.
Maybe just the position he’s in but, looks very tall for such a young age. I just love children and although mine are all grown up, I am still waiting for grandkids so I can spoil them (not too much).OK, these are just a few of my favorites. Maybe give them a try if you haven’t done so before.

All hail Woody ! More extremely useful informaton. Even though we’re prohibited from downloading or installing “freeware” on our office computers a number of these utilites would be a must have for any technician/troubleshooter. And we all know how many calls we get from family, friends, and neighbors because we’re the “computer guy”. Crap, now I’m going to be guilted in to becoming a paid subscriber to Windows Secrets. You’re reaching the tipping point where I feel I have to contribute so I won’t feel like a leech. Keep up the good work and information.

Slideshows are just as lame here as at InfoWorld. Pointless and turn away oh so many people. I never view these things, I just walk away.
