Is there a workable solution to the Windows 8 “Start” conundrum?
Posted on May 24th, 2012 at 07:10 3 commentsI’m not absolutely sure – and won’t know until we get RP – but I think there may be an easy way to use dual monitors, with the Metro interface almost always on one, and the legacy desktop on the other.
What do you think?

What happened to using third-party Desktop Apps to reduce Metro to a desktop link, and restore the Classic Start Menu? Does this still work in Win8 RP?
I for one will NOT be fooling around with dual-monitors and buying new hardware just to run Windows 8 on my laptop.

Microsoft is rumored to be removing all of the support software for the Start menu, so people can’t do what you’re suggesting.
Hunker down with your copy of Windows 7. You’ll have it for a long, long time…

Well, maybe I’ll want a dual-boot with Windows 8 Pro, but I am seeing your point.
