Problem with KB 3176929, the Windows 10 14393.10 patch
I have no idea why Microsoft shipped cumulative update 3 on the night before the big August 2 rollout of Windows 10 Anniversary Update.
Inaccurate tweets from Dona Sarkar didn’t make it any easier.
There’s still no documentation.
Fingers crossed that today doesn’t turn into the first big Win10 forced update disaster. Those of you using Win10 metered connection to block updates – or have Noel Carboni’s auto update blocker in place – might want to make sure it’s still working.

For those of you who are having problems – PKCano reports in the comments – can you check something for me? Is the “Notebook” icon appearing below the “Home” icon, on the left side of the Cortana pane? It would be the second icon underneath the hamburger icon.
