Those of you in the US… you’re registered to vote in November, yes?

If you haven’t yet registered, a pox upon you and your kin — please visit the National Voter Registration Day site.

Sign up your spouse, significant other(s), kids, family members, neighbors, even that hair technician with the incredibly smelly breath. You know who you are.

    This is important.

All the chicken entrails point to a sign-off late last week, and an official drop on October 2.

  • Sticky Notes v 3 rolling out to Win10 1803 customers

Posted on September 25th, 2018 at 08:00 woody Comment on the AskWoody Lounge

I’ve never been impressed by the Sticky Notes app — but this rollout is notable for one key reason: Microsoft’s actually distributing a usable UWP app through the Store.

Granted, it’s only available on 1803 (and 1809). But it’s being distributed in the same way that, say, Edge upgrades should be available.

Yeah, yeah, I know. Some of you think UWP Mail and UWP Calendar are usable — and they have upgrades distributed through the Store. I would beg to differ, but nevermind.

    From the Party Line:

    Features

    • Create Sticky Notes – A simple and smart design that makes capturing your all your notes – small and big – easy, quick and fun.
    • Sync Your Notes – Take your notes with you, and back them up. Never worry about losing your notes again.
    • One click access – Access your Sticky Notes with just a click of your Surface Pen to bring up the Windows 10 Ink Workspace.
    • Type or write, the choice is yours – Use your Surface Pen with Sticky Notes to capture your ideas in your very own handwriting or if you prefer to type, tap away.
    • Create Cortana Reminders – Never forget a note again with Cortana. Simply jot down a time or date with your note and it will be highlighted. You can then tap on it to create a Cortana reminder.
    • Added intelligence – Get to where you need to go with one click. Sticky Notes detects addresses, emails and cell numbers so all you have to do is tap the highlighted text to open Maps, Mail or Skype.

    Details in the Store.
