Has anyone here actually seen a BIOS infection in the wild?

    cheers, Paul

I can’t say that I have, but I have noticed that after wiping the hard drive, then re-flashing the BIOS to the latest version, that all problems were solved once I got a clean OS back on the hard drive. Now, I can’t say you can always do this easily – because some BIOS have a protection that will not allow you to flash any but a newer version once they are programed. Go figure – because that doesn’t seem to stop the malware coders! :o:
