    If the Answers Forum post from Microsoft represents a change in policy, the Surface line may not longer be disposable. We can always hope.

    UPDATE: Sorry to disappoint. Microsoft pulled the response. Oh well. Back to disposable Surfaces….

      Ahh dear old M$’s Surface lends much to the old saying “everything old is new again”

      https://www.extremetech.com/computing/251046-ifixit-labels-surface-laptop-glue-filled-monstrosity

      It seems now its repairable, no doubt, considering the amount of glue, with the application of a Kettle and copious amounts of steam. Much as when the report card from “Skool” arrived in the (snail)mail and was “steamed” open to edit the offending pages/comments, so it is with the new Surface.

      I may be old fashioned and a little behind the times but I always thought large amounts of steam and strong solvents could really ruin a laptops day, permanently;

      You’ll forgive me M$ it seems the new surface wont be on my xmas wish list its just too expensive to test the old assertions about steam and solvents lol  😉
