This should be easy for you experts, not so for us lesser, non-programming mortals! I have a table with an ID field set to autonumber, ie, a record ID. The table contains club membership data, some records pertaining to a single person, other records to two people where a joint membership (husband & wife) occurs. I need a personal ID for each which should be assigned by default. The record ID can also serve as ID1 for person 1 with ID2 for person 2. What I have in mind, for example, is that if the record ID is 123, then ID1 should also be 123 and ID2 should be 123.1. My naive attempt so far was to set the default value for ID1 as ‘=[ID]’ but all I got was an error message. The ultimate goal is to be able to provide the email agency MailChimp with email addresses for each person, each with a unique ID which MailChimp requires for successful housekeeping.
