Does anyone have an opinion on an ‘ideal security app’ (either paid or free) for an Android phone?

Obviously, this very much depends on what the end users are actually using their phones for, but I’m looking at it from the point of view that many banks that have online banking also have their own app and some are even leaning towards being an ‘app only’ type.

Any thoughts would be appreciated – thank you.

Thanks Matador – appreciate the information and I’ll look into those in more detail.

I seem to recall seeing a recommendation somewhere (although I cannot find the link again) for ‘Sophos Intercept X’ as being a pretty good app also.  Any views (from anyone) on this particular app.

I use Microsoft Defender.

Always create a fresh drive image before making system changes/Windows updates; you may need to start over!

We were all once "Average Users". We all have our own reasons for doing the things that we do with our systems, we don't need anyone's approval, and we don't all have to do the same things.
