I’m putting together a Greasemonkey (Firefox add-on) script to show post dates/times in the users’ local timezone.

I need to know the default timezone being used for posts and everything else.

Assuming it’s a US timezone, I need a string starting with “America/”, for example “America/New_York”.

Probably a question for the developers.

I’ve updated the converter link from #101544 a couple of weeks ago, to account for daylight saving time – it’s current for the next few months.

Thanks to all. “CDT” was a good clue.

I have “America/Chicago” and “America/North_Dakota” to choose from. I’m guessing the only differences are daylight saving’s start/end dates, otherwise they’re both on CST.

I’m going to guess “America/Chicago”.

(Let’s see if this post now (for me) shows “Wed April 5, 2017 at 10:43 am”.)
