I have Windows 11. When I play an old-time radio program on http://www.whenradiowas.com the program stops playing after about 7-30 minutes, depending on which browser I use, Firefox (7 minutes), Chrome and Edge (abut 30 minutes). I can play the same programs on other sites, such as https://archive.org/details/oldtimeradio, and the programs always play through to the end. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling all of the audio drivers, and cleared all of my browser caches, to no avail. I emailed Radio Spirits, the sponsor of WhenRadioWas, but they said I was the only one who had this problem. Can you suggest anything else I can try, other than reinstalling Windows, my ultimate recourse.

GuestTry booting from Live Linux USB or CD and see if it works. If it does the same thing, than seems your hardware is starting to fail. If it works, than issue is Windows OS. There could be several things that cause it. You might have to create a full backup of OS. After that, start to try figure what might causing it.
- new programs install–remove it
- try a different browser- Opera, Brave, etc
- Try Windows reset
- Do a fresh Windows reinstall

AskWoody PlusLooks like a subscription website to me. I assume you have a registered paid subscription? Have you tried the free sample at:
https://www.radiospirits.com/onradio/wrwplay21.asp?source=wrw&pcode=WRW2008Note from their website
How do I listen to an audio program?
Our streaming audio programs utilize the HTML 5 built-in audio player control. If you are using a common web browser (such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari) your program should begin playing a short time after you click the play icon under the show listing. Please note, you must have an active, reliable internet connection to stream our programs.Mike

Do you get a warning from Firefox (or the other browsers) that the link is not secure?
I notice the URL for whenradiowas starts with http and not https. Perhaps that is the problem?
Oh, and thanks for making me aware of two old time radio sources, although I think I’ll wait on whenradiowas until they implement https . . .
