If the answer is already in some obvious place, I’d appreciate being directed to it. Otherwise, my question is…

I currently have Version 1803, and have automatic updating turned off. I’ve seen that updating to Version 1809 is now recommended. How do I do it? That is, do I just do the basic Windows manual update, or is there something I need to know in order to update only to 1809 and not do something in addition that I may regret? Thanks.

You could use “Check for updates” to see if you get it (after turning WU back on) or go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Use the Microsoft Creation Tool to put it on a USB stick and run setup.exe from the USB stick.

      Hope this helps
