It’s finally out. The first Win10 patch (to the best of my knowledge) that’s been thoroughly tested in the Windows Insider Preview Ring — and I’d be

        From the KB article:

To download and install this update, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and select Check for updates.

This update will be downloaded and installed automatically from Windows Update. To get the standalone package for this update, go to the Microsoft Update Catalog website.

I wonder if that’s a typo, or if this preview is being forced. Odd.

I’m not showing it installed on my “deferred 0 days” 1809 machine.

UPDATE: Just posted this on the main page. I’d be willing to bet it’s a documentation screw-up, but if any of you have this patch pushed onto your 1809 machine (without clicking Check for Updates), I’d sure like to hear about it.

Not the KB4476976, but a .NET PREVIEW!!!

Waded into this trap with eyes open, uninstalled again… 🙁

If your using WUMT or WUMGR it wont show up unless as @woody says: “Check for updates” (BOOO! HISSSS!) the old Seeker syndrome then its out there.
Installed without fuss seems to be ok for the last 8 hours or so

“Addresses a compatibility issue with AMD R600 and R700 display chipsets. ”

Could this mean that users with a Radeon HD 2000 and HD 4000 will be unblocked with next month’s update?

Yesterday, KB4481031, the Preview of Cumulative Update for .NET Framework, installed automatically on my laptop but KB4476976 did not.

I have Windows 10 Home Edition 1809. I did NOT click on “Check for updates”.

It doesn’t look normal for me that a .net Framework preview update installs automatically. Preview updates should be reserved to “seekers” only.

Do NOT click “check for updates”. That marks you as a free beta tester.
Have patience. Let Windows do updates as you have asked it to do in the settings.

      Byte me!

even if it’s safe I would wait for other to download, sorry but until  I don’t see any issues with patches I wont patch.

Just someone who don't want Windows to mess with its computer.

I’m actually not seeing the 1809 cumulative yet for some reason. (Using the PowerShell ComObject interface with Microsoft Update to list “IsInstalled=0”, that is.)

Not that I’m in any particular hurry but… was it pulled or something?

The .NET one is there, but, well, it doesn’t say it’s a preview, and…

      From https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4481031/january-22-2019-kb4481031 :

      Known issues in this update
For 24 hours, this Jan 22, 2019 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.7.2 (KB4481031) was made available broadly on Windows Update as an automatic update. As of January 23, 2019, this update is no longer offered on Windows Update as an automatic update, but rather only to “seekers” who go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and then select Check for updates, as is expected.  This update continues to be available on WSUS and Microsoft Update Catalog.

Still not letting that one through yet.

And it almost looked like MS updates might have gotten some sanity… oh well.
