A new version BleachBit 4.2.0.1797 has been released 01/02/2021
        Available over on: https://www.bleachbit.org/

Bleachbit is an open source system cleansing utility and more, for Windows and Linux distros by Andrew Ziem. To highlight a few of my favorite features ( quoted from the site)

No adware, spyware, malware, backdoors, browser toolbars, or “value-added software”
Portable app for Windows: run without installation

for more info on features and cleaners included, visit: https://www.bleachbit.org/features

Akin to Piriform/Avast CCleaner, the utility uses the winapp2.ini file to save and execute settings for your chosen items to clean, purge or vacuum.

Should you feel adventurous (intermediate to advanced level), there are more cleaners available using an enhanced winapp2.ini (Windows only) over on: https://www.bleachbit.org/documentation/winapp2_ini

The changelog is quite long (major revision) https://www.bleachbit.org/news/bleachbit-420

        ASKWOODY TIPS:
        1. The only background connection being ‘update’ that checks online upon startup, on by default. This setting can easily be disabled within the utility settings should you wish to avoid background connection to the update server.
        2. Verify the checksum once downloaded (checksums available on respective download page)

        enjoy!

        Thanks

I’d never noticed the winapp2ini option before. Not a lot of additional space was cleared but it did clean up some leftovers from previous uninstallations. Also worth noting, it triggered  the Flash uninstaller.
