“Please note, this is to be expected with beta software. It is impossible to test all hardware configs in all conditions with internal QA, hence public beta.”

But whereas running beta software on your computer typically puts only your system and data at risk, beta-testing a self-driving car on a public road network introduces danger to other drivers who were never given the opportunity to opt-in or opt-out.

So they will kill few people with betatesting, because they cant internally test all hardware configs they make? Dont tell me they wouldnt notice this problem, if they betatested at least 1000 miles in few different cars – some payed Tesla employee, not just regular user, that is unaware of the risk.

I predict that testing self-driving cars on public roads will be banned once sufficient deaths have accrued. But how many?
