Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |
I have Office 2016. When I am in Word 2016 and I click on File>Accounting, this information about Word appears:
When I click on the ‘About Word’ square, this screen appears:
When I go to Msft C2R Release Info to find the release dates of these builds, I do not find the build from screen #2 listed but I do find the build from screen #1
Why are the build numbers different?
Why is only the build of screen #1 listed in the MSFT C2R Release Info?

Oh I see it. I think the second screen is the product info for Word (like the sku number), not a build number. I’ll double check.

Not all Office binary files necessary get the same official build number
so it’s normal to see different versions for the files
the second screen gives the version of winword.exe
