Thank you for the post, Businesses: want to control your browsers a bit more?

Over the next couple of days, we will give some thought to pros and cons of reinstalling Edge on our PC’s

However, some time ago we discovered that Edge was loading by default when we turned on our Windows 10 computers and was tracking our activity even though we never used Edge.

In fact, when we ran CCleaner Custom Clean on our PCs the largest number of files removed were Microsoft Edge related.

The discovery that Edge was running and collecting data in the background begged the questions:

      • What value is there for us, as users, to have a Microsoft application collecting data in the background?
      • What data was sent to Microsoft?
      • And, if data was sent to Microsoft, how was/is it used?

As a result, we uninstalled Edge.

Right now, we are running Firefox and Brave backed by top-of-the-line virus software and none of our company computers connect to the internet via a WIFI connection.

Our employees are prohibited from using company computers and internet service for private browsing and email.  However, we do maintain an “independent public WIFI” for personal/non-business related use.

Thank you again for the post.
