I have a CD-R that contains backup files from my brother-in-law’s PC prior to a hard disk failure. Unfortunately, some of the files are unreadable and I suspect that part of the CD was physically damaged or corrupted on writing. Does anyone know of a utility that will enable me to strip off anything that is still recoverable on the CD? OS is WinXP Home, SP2.

    Many thanks
