AskWoody PlusI don’t recall this option on previous versions of Chrome beta but I have just updated Chrome to Version 88.0.4324.27 (Official Build) beta (64-bit). After the update Chrome has opened the settings page and I saw an entry for ‘Safety Check’ which include scanning for malware apps and which can use 70+% of CPU.

You posted 10 months ago that Debotnet could block it:

And there was a registry edit/import to disable it suggested here:
