North Dakota’s Coronavirus Contact Tracing app, Care19, has been sharing user data with Foursquare and Google.

The app does not rely on the Apple/Google Exposure Notification API.

Before downloading Coronavirus Contact Tracing apps, it is good to do some research to ensure they are not sharing user data with third parties (even if they are issued from a government health agency), as well as only download apps that use the Apple/Google Exposure Notification API. Even if the Privacy Policy says the app isn’t sharing user data, it’s good to double-check. For apps that are in violation of their Privacy Policy, it’s good to report them to Apple.

Apple may need to lock down app approvals and only approve Contact Tracing apps that use the official API. We’ll see what happens in future iOS releases.

Big Brother ala 1960’s– No way! Ask the medical Dr’s. They seem to spend more time on PC;s than with their stethoscopes and Patients anyway. and WHO wpold know better? (no pun intended)

My doctor’s office has gone all digital as well. My doctor has to enter everything into a laptop. The one time he got to relax and do things the old fashioned way was when their network went down and he had to use that modern technological innovation called paper. He seemed to enjoy doing that instead of using the computer though.
