It was the Humphrey Bogart character Sam Spade in The Maltese Falcon (1941).
“Yes,” Spade growled. “And when you’re slapped you’ll take it and like it.”

About Copilot, I’ll try it out so at least I have a reason to disable it. 🙂

Funny how the name Fedora is also a clue to less frustrating options 🙂

Windows 10 22H2 Build 19045.3754 (KB5032278)
..After installing today’s November 2023 non-security preview update (KB5032278), Windows Insiders in Release Preview with eligible devices3 running Windows 10, version 22H2 who are interested in experiencing Copilot in Windows as soon as possible when we begin rolling it out in the near future, can choose to do so by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and turning on ”Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” and Check for updates4,5..
This is a strange announcement as I received Copilot on Edge at least 10-14 days ago on a W10 Pro 22H2 PC, and well before the November updates were released. It sits quietly in the top right hand corner where Bing used to be. I am in Scotland so I don’t know if that made a difference with roll-out dates.

Copilot in Edge is the new name for Bing. Bing is no more.

One user has reported an odd repeated installation of the September and October .NET Framework cumulative updates, KB5031224 and KB5030180. Anyone else seeing this peculiarity?
On my W10 Pro 22H2 daily driver, I had these two apparently reissued .NET KB’s show up in the update queue about 2 weeks after applying the 2023-10 updates. I applied them a few days before November Patch Tuesday. I have not yet installed the 2023-11 updates.

The past October, I experimented with AI graphic design using Edge and the Bing Image Creator tool. I do a lot of computer fixing online via AnyDesk so my directions to the Bing Image Creator tool were something like this:
“create a picture of a cartoon doctor holding a stethoscope on a computer screen”
Here’s what it did. I insert it into email sometimes for a chuckle. Nab it if you like.

Copilot is already in Windows 10 22h2
Technically, for now it’s not yet embedded in the Windows OS. Using AI from a search engine in a browser just exactly that, no more. Edge browser with search engine Bing which is now named Copilot in Edge, The Brave browser built in search engine has Leo AI, The duckduckgo search engine has “DuckAssist” AI and so on.

So this Copilot rubbish won’t be pushed to “Managed” devices?
Does this mean that if I am running the Enterprise versions of Windows 10 or Windows 11 then this rubbish won’t appear or will be blocked? And how about other versions like Education?
Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst.
Microsoft : Why do you need Copilot (even if you don’t want it)
..Why you should try Copilot in Windows
People who work with information daily are excited about the capabilities of generative AI to help them discover and create new content. They may already be using generative AI by accessing Microsoft Copilot (previously Bing Chat) or ChatGPT in the browser.
Copilot in Windows powers the generative AI experience in managed Windows 10 and 11 PCs. As an IT professional, you want to help your organization be at the forefront of AI, but also hold the bar on protecting corporate data that employees may share with AI models. We are here to help you do both. With Copilot in Windows, you can offer a managed version of Copilot to Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices so employees do not accidentally share confidential or proprietary information…
By using Copilot, employees can:
Save time and effort by prompting for information and services in one place by typing prompts in natural language or using their voice.
Explore new possibilities and ideas by generating creative and innovative content that includes both text and images…

Chat GPT is often wrong. And clearly the turmoil in the Board room of Open AI gives me such warm fuzzies.

Chat GPT is often wrong.
So is the Brave browser AI engine “Leo”. I asked Leo about the Open AI boardroom bruhaha. Here’s the reply:
OpenAI is a research organization that focuses on developing safe and beneficial AI. I’m not aware of any turmoil in their board room. It’s possible that you may have come across an outdated or inaccurate article or report.

What a tragedy
now LTSC 2021 users will have to deal with bloated Cumulative Update that include components which they don’t need or want (or cannot) to have
are you sure about that, abbodi?
cuz I DO use LTSC 2021 and have NOT gotten Copilot at all, not even with the KB5032278 update installed (I had build 19044.3757 on there)
btw, the KB5032278 update has been officially released as build 1904x.3758 to non-insiders on Thursday November 30 (in the afternoon)
Just updated Win10 to KB5032189. Copolit is not shown in the Group Policy Editor.
Copilot requires KB5032278 or newer, not KB5032189

Desktop icons might move unexpectedly between monitors
OS Build 19045.3758
KB5032278
Windows devices using more than one (1) monitor might experience issues with desktop icons moving unexpectedly between monitors or other icon alignment issues when attempting to use Copilot in Windows (in preview).
To prevent users from encountering this issue, Copilot in Windows might not be available on devices that have been used or are currently being used in a multimonitor configuration. You might also not be able to update to Windows 11, version 23H2 as we have applied a compatibility hold on devices encountering this issue.
If your organization is using Windows Update for Business reports, the safeguard ID is 47615939.
Note: We recommend that you do not attempt to manually update to Windows 11, version 23H2 using the Update now button or the Media Creation Tool until this issue has been resolved and the safeguard removed.
Next steps: We are working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release…
