I have a large 22.4 GB folder that I am trying to copy from my SSD 250mb disc to a 2TB HDD, there already is a copy of this folder on the HDD but I am trying to update it. The copying process baulks almost immediately on a file of 269mb which is the downloaded file for Acronis 2014, yet, if I copy and paste that file alone it completes without a problem. I have tried the process in 3 different file managers with the same result. Windows 8.1.1, 8GB RAM

I take it that SSD is a 250GB disk and not a 250MB flash card?

1 (Possible bad/corrupt drive/memory cell sector) Run a checkdisk on both drives and check the SMART data as well.
2 (Operating system issue) Run a “sfc /scannow” on the system.

Thank you for your replies. Yes, the SSD is a 250GB disc. I did search that error message but the general advice was to run error checking on both discs, which I did with no errors found. I then deleted the 22.4gb folder from the target disc and tried again and then it copied perfectly, very strange.
