I own two dell computers running Windows 10 Pro. A laptop, model 3480 which is a few years old. A nearly new desktop, model XPS 8930. Last week my laptop proved itself eager to upgrade from 1903 to 1909. This week, with the desktop, not so much. I was able to update with a few patches. Unfortunately, my desktop showed no interest in upgrading from 1903 to 1909. Should I leave my desktop alone and let it upgrade when it feels ready?

I read somewhere if your computer shows no interest in upgrading you should not try to force the issue. The safest thing is to assume Windows has located your box to the end of the line for whatever reason. Is that correct?

You are better off leaving it alone until Windows Update offers it to you. It will not work through metered connections or (if you have the Pro Edition) deferrals.
