I have two Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) SP1 computers. On one, several weeks ago, I installed KB4474419, waited about 30 minutes, and then installed KB4512506. All went fine.

I just got around today to the 2nd computer. I installed KB4474419, but then noticed that it was dated “2019-09”, so it is a later version.

My question is: Do I try and go back and install KB4512506, or do I install what appears to be it’s replacement: KB4516065? If so, does anyone have experience with it?

Also, I see now on my 1st computer, Windows Update says I should install the Sept. version of KB4474419, along with KB4516065. Is that necessary, or are the August versions that I already installed sufficient?

      Confused.

If you are offered KB4474419 as a CHECKED Important update, you should install it.

We are on DEFCON-2 as far as the September updates are concerned. That means, wait to install them until Woody increases the DEFCON number to 3 or above.

To install the August Rollup  KB4512506 (that has DEFCON approval), you can right click on KB4516065 and HIDE it temporarily. Then check for updates and KB4512506 will appear for installation. Once it is installed, go back and UNHIDE KB4516065, but don’t install it yet.

Thanks for the rapid response. I never knew that I could hide something temporarily. That worked great, and I installed the August Rollup KB4512506 on my 2nd computer. Plus, on my 1st computer, I installed the September KB4474419, because it was a checked option.

But I don’t understand how I UNHIDE KB4516065, since it does not appear.

On the left side “restore hidden updates”
Check only the one you want to restore.
        Click “Restore”
It will search for updates and put that one back in the important list.

I feel so stupid. I didn’t even look on the initial Windows Update page.

KB4516065 is now back on the list to install whenever the ‘all clear’ signal is given.
