Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it.

GuestWe successfully installed the Feb. 2021 Win 7 rollup. Our security software gave us an alert that IE 11 had changed. We are not aware of any IE 11 updates in the Feb. KB4601347 rollups.
We were (and still are) at the last IE 11 patch level (KB4586768) before installing the KB 4601347 rollup. We are not aware of a specific February 2021 patch.
We are wondering if something in the KB4601347 Win 7 rollup changed IE 11 but was not officially deemed an IE 11 update by Microsoft.

GuestThanks PK. KB4601347 has fix(es) in it for a TCP vulnerability. May be that has something to do with it. Could be an API that has changed… (our guess).
We’ve updated several of our Win 7 systems and they all present the same alert about IE 11 changing. We’ve virus scanned these systems and haven’t noticed any unusual behaviors with IE.

GuestPK – you triggered a thought…
We looked at the list of files that are included in KB4601347 (from the MS KB). Sure enough there is iexplore.exe with a 1/15/2021 date that matches what we’ve got. Looks like it is still at KB4586768. Don’t know why they did this.
As listed from https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/february-9-2021-kb4601347-monthly-rollup-c0ae9599-f93d-68ee-7542-0aa3564f3190 with file version and date/time stamps, size.
iexplore.exe 11.0.9600.19940 1/15/2021 3:30 1/15/2021 3:30 810392
