On March 12, 2023 I made a system image of my computer using Macrium Reflect. I then updated Edge and after the update, Edge would start-up, but I could not access any of the settings and no website appeared. I tried to remove Edge with uninstall and Revo, attempted to reinstall with the same result. Eventually, I restored using Macrium reflect the entire system image back to March 12th. Everything worked well, until today when I updated Edge again and had the same original problem with Edge not working at all.  Could some assist in solving this problem? I am relatively a novice with computers, so please, if possible, keep it simple.

    Thank you ahead of time.

    System:       Window 10 Pro

    Version:      21H2 (OS Build 19044.2486)

    Computer:  ASUS x64-based

What version of Edge were you running?

You may want to try uninstalling Edge and then downloading and installing it:

I tried to uninstall thru Programs and Features but was unsuccessful. I then tried using Revo installer, but Edge did not show up. Once I did a system restore, everything was fine until I tried to update, and then the problems began again.

        Thanks for your suggestion.

          In Revo Uninstaller:

          • Go to Options
          • Select Uninstaller
          • Check Show System Components

Microsoft Edge will now show in your programs along with date installed and version.

Did you get an error message of any kind?

Have you checked the system application logs?

      Have you tried another browser?

Have you tried the DEV channel version of Edge?

Thank you for your response. Pertaining to your comments:

        1. I did not receive any errors of any kind.
        2. I am not very savvy with computers; however, I tried to obtain info on application logs. I goggled applications logs and did the following steps. I don’t know if this is what you were referring to concerning application logs:
          1. I went to “Event Viewer”
          2. I clicked on “Application and Service Logs” and clicked on ACEEvent Logs, Microsoft Office Alerts, and Windows Powershell since they were the only items listed with a number greater than 0, and after scrolling down thru the items, there were no Error messages, just “Information” listed under the column “Level”.
        3. I have not tried another browser, but that may be my only option. I just wanted to avoid trying to uninstall Edge, which previously was unsuccessful.
        4. I have no idea what “DEV channel version of Edge is”.

        Thank you again.

You may go to Microsoft Edge Insider to download the DEV channel version of Edge. It is a test version that is updated weekly and separately from the field release version.

To see the Application logs – open the event viewer, click on Windows, then double-click on Application. Look for errors.
