Every day I open my email (windows live mail) the notification message comes on, HOWEVER nothing is there. I have checked all responses from other forums and none helped.
EG: check junk folder, check spam folder, change my email account, check my folder rules ( I have none)

I am at a loss to fix this annoyance so please help solve this.

        Thanks for any ideas.

Have you tried logging in to webmail through a browser to check if there is anything in there different from your local live mail? Just recently logged into my outlook.com account and noticed a bunch of messages moved to a junk folder even though I had never setup any spam filtering.

        Emphasis added. There’s a known detail…

        I don’t suppose your mail address happens to be on @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com or @msn.com ?

If so, this is a “Feature” and not a bug, according to Microsoft. See “Windows Live Mail 2012 will not connect to Outlook.com” over at support.office.com … no, I don’t see a date on the page, unfortunately.

I’ve moved some former Windows Live Mail users to Thunderbird, because they liked it better than Outlook or Microsoft’s “modern Mail app”.

(Also, after Windows Live Mail went out of support, security problems have been found and published…)
