I keep getting a fatal exception OE has occurred at 0028:C004E35c in VxD VCACHE(01)+0000053C.
I have to reboot verytime after this error. What does it mean and how do I solve this?

I can see you’re running Outlook Express, but which version and on what operating system? Is the machine networked, and if so, what network OS? There was a known problem with vcache in Win 95 that was fixed in Win 98, but you need to provide more information about the problem.

Charlotte in reply to your question:

I am runnung both Outlook and Outlook Express (OE for news).
My OS = Windows 98 SE. I am not connected to a network but at times change my settings from home computer to network server as this increases my system file cache froM 32/677 PATH FILES TO 64/2729 PATH/FILES. I do this mainly when writing CDR’s.

        I hope this helps

It sounds like the switching back and forth may be part of the problem. Have you downloaded and run regclean.exe (available on the Microsoft site) to clean up registry errors? I’d start with that to see if you can get the system stabilized. Have you tried the built-in Win98 system utilities to see if anything shows up there? I no longer run Windows 98, so I’m going from memory here.
