    it’s good to see a formal confirmation from the Lords of the Common,
    but still getting a 0x80070643 failure on the “dotNet-3.1.23 x64 client update” … followed all the advisories on the internet to get rid of this 0x80070643 ;
    Has anyone the solution please?

      Provide the KB update number please. I can’t tell if .NET or .NET Framework has failed.

      Here is .NET Framework Repair Tool:
      https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/framework/install/repair

      Addendum: You are running .NET Core update. The .NET Framework Repair Tool has no application to you for this problem. The KB number will help identify exactly what you are updating. Microsoft has some very interesting repair tools these days.

        Geekdom, Sorry I am very late to give you my answer. It took a very long time.
        Nothing worked, eventually I deleted all concerning DotNet-3, and let Windows install what is needed.  That helped, and don’t have a clue what was wrong
        Thanks for reaching out.
