formatting vanished (2000 with SP 3)

all of a sudden, I cannot see formatting, including Bold, various fonts, and underlining, when in Outline mode. It is still there, and prints or can be seen i Normal or other modes.

What happened & how do I get back the correct view in Outline Mode??

Try changing your default printer to see if this makes a difference.

In Word 2003 (I don’t have 2000 available right now to check that) in Outline view, there is a button on the toolbar that toggles seeing the formatting on and off. See screenshot.

Thanks! That was it – a hidden freaking button that does not show up in Tools | Options or in the View Menu….!

I must have hit it accidentally a while ago.
