Now that’s awesome.  Finally got use to using the Solitaire collection (with the occasional commercial) but would beyond rather run my games locally.  Thanks for the share.  Scanning the zip file now (yes; paranoid I am) and then will install it.   🙂

It’s not free with the pushed out Ads as there are free versions with no ads whatsoever.

When I moved from Windows XP to Windows 10 pro, I copied the Free Cell.exe and Solitaire. exe files from the system 32 folder of Windows XP and pasted them into the same folder of my Windows 10 setup.   I then created a shortcut and pinned it on my start menu.   I go to start and click the shortcut and …… viola……I am now playing my favorite games once again on Windows 10.    No need to install any games from software….just copy and paste…..try it!!

Yes this does work but aesthetically, it’s quite a crude looking version amoungst the glorious beauty of W10 /snark. The installer version linked in this article is far better IMO

Love being able to Play the Classics BUT..!  Every time Windows Updates, they get deleted by Microsoft..!  Quite maddening and Tedious..!  I am amazed they CAN delete software from your computer as they please..!!!!!

Yeah, every Feature Update seems to knock it out but I just keep the install file in a folder in Downloads so it only takes a minute to reinstall. I’ve been using the aero win 7 games since 1507.

About the “Win7 Games for Windows 10 and 8” – these may get removed when doing full feature OS upgrades for Win10 (like upgrading from 1803 to 1809 OR 1809 to 1903). so you will need to re-install them

Installing Win7 Games for Windows 10 and 8 on Windows 8/8.1 this just doesn’t happen. Thanks for reminding me why I prefer Windows 8.1 so much over W10 🙂

I’ve used these games for quite a while, now. One memorable Windows update not only deleted the games, but searched and found the installation file and deleted that, too.  Fortunately, I also had it on a USB drive.
