I am getting so frustrated with flash drives:

    1. Used Lexar for years with nice 256 encryption and windows-like desktop interface.  One drive broke. Bought new Lexar. Will not restore the old software vault to the new drive vault. New desktop interface mostly fixed with normal Windows features like screen sizing, changeable sort, and persistence with screen changes missing. Black and gray theme disappears into Windows black theme. However, the manual file transfer was fantastic.
    2. Tried a PNY flash drive. Although all the ads on seller sights and PNY site said their flash drives have 256 encryption, I inserted drive and no encryption software as was pre installed on Lexar. Is there down loadable encryption software for the PNY? Anyone know?
    3. Looked at SanDisk but their encryption is only 126. With all the theft nowdays seems like SanDisk should be offering 256 also. Anyone know if their encryption software is preloaded or down loadable?
    4. Looked at a few others and most affordable for business’ only.

So frustrating. Thanks for any help or advise.

Not sure what the prices are like, but Kingston is a very reputable company that sells encrypted USB drives.

I recently purchased two of their 256 GB DataTraveler Max USB 3.2 drives because of their super fast transfer speeds; which totally blows away the speeds I was getting with my old Sandisk Extreme GO USB 3.2 drive!

      Sandisk Crystal disk results:

      Kingston Crystal disk results:

They were also nice and cheap, only $25 direct from Kingston with free shipping because the total was +$35.

You can use Veracrypt to encrypt a plain drive.

      cheers, Paul
