MS-DEFCON 2:
Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it.

AskWoody PlusHi,
I encounter the error details: Code 80070661 from the “Review your update history” when attempt to install Group B Feb 2021 Monthly Update for Win 7 Pro (i.e. KB4601363). The error message on the Win 7 Blue Screen is “Failure configuring Windows updates. Reverting changes. Do not turn off your computer”.
Kindly advise how to resolve this issue. Thank you.
Best regards,
Eddie Loh

ManagerSome questions:
Did you download the correct bittage (32 or 64-bit) for your computer (see AKB2000003)?
Are you using an ESU license or @abbodi86 ‘s script? (See #2342227 for prereqs.)
If the latter, are you using version 3 of W7ESUI_0.3.zip? Are you running it as Admin?-

W7ESUI does not run unless it’s in admin mode. A helpful warning is displayed to indicate the error.

AskWoody PlusHi PKCano,
Thanks for the prompt reply to my SOS call. I have indeed downloaded and installed the 64 Bit Group B MS Patches to my laptop with ESU license installed using my administrator account but my effort are of no avail. How can I get to the root or cause of the problem?
Please enlighten and thank you.
Best regards,
Eddie Loh

ManagerI have not used the ESU, but have installed the Feb. Rollup using @abbodi86 ‘s method without a problem.
February patches are the first patches of the second-year licensing setup. I would suggest going back over the licensing procedure, being sure you have it set up correctly for the second year. We have had no other reports of problems with the patches themselves (yet). One reference point for individual patch problems would be this thread, using the same patches just a different method of applying them.
