I read the warning about comparing the hidparse.sys file in both \system32 folder and \system32\drivers folder. I’m running Windows 10 22H2. Have not yet installed Patch Tuesday of Dec 13. My hidparse.sys file in \system32 folder is dated 5/4/2021. My hidparse.sys file in \system32\drivers folder is dated 12/7/2022 (the date I installed the November Patch Tuesday patch. Both files hidparse.sys are 45 kb.

Is there anything I can do to safely install Dec 13 updates at this time? Or should I just wait? Thanks, Mike

Step one – ask yourself if you have a backup.

Your call if you want to copy the file or just wait for Microsoft

      1. wait for MS to provide more info
      2. copy the file as noted in this post Windows 10, version 22H2 | Microsoft Learn

Thanks, Susan. As a safety measure should I go ahead and copy Hidparse.sys version 10.0.19041.2251 in my \Sys32\drivers to my \System32, overwriting Hidparse.sys version 10.0.19041.86? Or should I just wait until you advise further. I trust you.

I’m running Win10 Pro 22H2 on an ASUS mini desktop.

          xcopy C:\windows\system32\drivers\hidparse.sys C:\windows\system32\hidparse.sys

Copy from the drivers to the main system32  folder
