No, it won’t. Microsoft’s AI will download and install 1903 on your PC starting this month with no way to defer installation unless you us a 3rd party app.

I know how to cut, paste, and create a block quote, but how do you get the “Alex5723 wrote:” part entered with different font, size and underlined etc?

Do you need to click the Reply button first? Does that indent the reply?

        cheers, Paul

Yes, if you don’t start with Reply, the text you quote will end up in the field directly in line with the Topic.

It work correctly here, but when I tried it HERE  it ended up above the POST I was trying to quote. Must of did something wrong.

To have authors name included in your quoted reply you first select Reply, this will thread, or nest (indent) your reply to the post you replied to. After selecting reply, you then need to select Quote at the bottom of that post, this will include the complete text of the post and author replied to.

To reply to only part of a post, select Reply, highlight the text, then select quote . Authors name will be included in the quoted part of your reply.

If you just select Quote at the bottom of a post you want to reply to, it will open a new post at the bottom of the page.

Reply first to nest, then select quote to include author. Just selecting Quote will not nest reply.

When select Reply and then select Quote I get the below.

postquote quote=1937906][/postquote , with square brackets on the ends. No text appears until I submit.

Yes, the quoted text or complete post will be truncated via [/pq] while you are composing your reply.

That’s if you want the authors name at top of quoted content, what you wanted – yes?

I want the reply to show: indent, authors name and the full text to appear in the compose field. So I can a multi-Quote the authors reply/post. If that makes sense?

You can use BLOCK QUOTE to do this. Assuming you are only quoting text from one author.  You click REPLY and then HIGHLIGHT starting text and QUOTE that.

Now, HIGHLIGHT the complete post and paste it in your reply. Using TEXT tab (easiest)

Separate portions of the text using blockquote to start and /blockquote to end that part.

the author’s name will only appear in the first highlighted portion.

I want the reply to show: indent, authors name and the full text to appear in the compose field

This has your name in it.

Using blockquote from toolbar in TEXT tab, you can quote the remaining portions as you go. Unless you continually highlight and select quote each time it will look like this.

        Hope this works.

If you reply to text within the quote it will appear as quoted also.

        Confusing 🙂

          Multi quote # 1

Thats why they call them confusers rather than computers 🙂

          Multi quote # 2

After a little trial and error I’ll have it figured out.

          Thanks for the help,
