How did I get this context menu for a folder that lists Media Player options and ‘Cast to Device’?

All of the .jpg files inside this folder have the context menu below. The .jpg files were created using the snipping tool to capture something on a Windows 10 screen using the PrtScr key, pasting it to Word, cropping the image, and maybe adding a text box, and then snipping again to make the final product — a .jpg file. I guess this context menu is a feature of .jpg files?

I thought maybe the containing folder inherits some of the features of the files within, but I made a new folder in the same location and copied the .jpg files to it. The new folder does not have the options that pertain to Media Player or ‘Cast to Device’ like the original folder does.

      They’re defaults for media files:

But I’m not clear how they should behave for folders.

I’m not clear, either and that’s why I am asking. I haven’t used Media Player for a long, long time, although it’s an icon on my desktop. That means that Media Player was not open at the time I created the folder (in the conventional way by clicking to get the context menu while in the folder in which it was to be contained and clicking on “New”).

Today, when I checked the context menu for the new folder, it looked like the 1st image with the 3 extra, red-squared options. Yesterday, it did not have those three extra options. Then, I checked the context menu again about 10 minutes later; both the new and the old menus no longer had the 3 extra options. Then I created a 2nd folder and left it with the name ‘New folder’; its context menu had the 3 extra options; no files were in the folder. I renamed that ‘New Folder’; its context menu no longer had the 3 options. I created a 3rd new folder and gave it a name when it was created; its context menu did not have the 3 options. I created a 5th new folder and left it with the name ‘New folder’; its context menu had the 3 options in it; my bet is that eventually its context menu will lose the 3 extra options. And my bet was right — about 10 minutes later its context menu no longer had the 3 extra options.

It seems that when the system creates a folder and automatically gives it a ‘New folder’ name, it also gives it a context menu with these 3 extra options. If the folder is renamed, its context menu loses these 3 extra options. Or if the folder acquires a name when it’s created, its context menu does not have these 3 extra options. If the system has given a ‘New folder’ this 3-extra-option context menu, some minutes later, it will remove the 3 extra options.

It looks like the system is making an error for a ‘New folder’, recognizes it, and then corrects it.

        Odd behavior, to my mind!!
