• How to create a topic

I was told by a moderator to “Please create a Topic under your version of Win10, using a Title something about asking help for Win10.”

However, elsewhere I read that the topics are determined by the moderators. Maybe, this means Forum topics are pre-determined.

So, how can I create a topic, like the one suggested?

      You just did.
You can access the Forums by clicking the “Forums” button in the top menubar.
If you have a queation about WIndows, click on the Windows Forum.

The Forum name is at the top. Below it is the Forum path to tell you where you are.
For a question about Win7 patches, for example, click on Win7, then Win7 patches.

At the bottom of each category, there is an entry box for a new Topic. Make the title indicative of your question/problem, then enter your content.

        Another pointer about quoting:
If you click the “Quote” button, it quotes the WHOLE post.
It you highlight what you want to quote first, then click “Quote,” it quotes only what you have highlighted.

I have always wondered how that was done.

        Thanks PKCano!

Another way is to highlight the text you want and copy/paste it into the reply. Then highlight it in the Reply and click on the ” marks in the above menu.

And, hoping you don’t mind, I will remove the second copy of my screenshots and just leave your answer.

Ah, I see you beat me to it.

Ah, I see you beat me to it.

yep, and I gave the reason for my editing.

But, I don’t see my edited post anymore, just yours, so it’s water under the bridge.

Double-double thanks again for your help.

P.S. It would be great if there were a button to get a preview screen.

        From the Lounge Rules:

Should you wish to thank someone for their post, click the helpful Thanks button below the reply, which is open to logged-in users.

Preview isn’t an option available in the forum software we use – it’s one request we all want!
