Reliability monitor reports “Windows update stopped working”  All the other Aug 2023 Patch Tuesday updates are reported as being successfully installed.  Update Troubleshooter reported it had found an issue and made some changes.  Restarted and ran Win update again which reported that system was up to date.  SFC reports no violations.  I  understand 5029244 should have been installed, not sure what to do next!

I would download WuMgr, run it and click on the Search button (round arrows) to see what Windows Update is offering.
WuMgr will also show you the latest update log so you can see if anything is amiss.

      cheers, Paul

If any update fails to install, I would do a repair install over the top.  It will not harm your data, it will fix up any windows plumbing problems.

      Thanks to Susan and Paul.

Turns out when I checked Updates in Control Panel that 5029244 had actually

installed. Seems that Reliability Monitor was telling fibs, although it did report that

Windows Updates had stopped working, which suggested something was wrong.

I also downloaded 5029244 from Microsoft Catalogue, but the Installer

confirmed Update was already on the machine.

Will keep Windows Update Manager in mind should anything like this happen

      again!
