      About missing files during or after syncing, and related missing files issues:

      Two more backup strategies which can reduce the chances of actually losing a file in this way:

      Keep File History and an associated local drive running on at least one device all the time while you’re working on any of your devices.

      Keep other copies of archived versions of important files on additional backup drives, independent of File History.

      This way you can restore a reasonably recent copy of a missing file even if all else has failed within the One Drive ecosystem.
