In Word 365 I created a set of styles – a ‘style set’ – and gave that style set a name, and saved it under that name. When I open Word, my style set appears in Designs > Document Formatting as a style set that I can use.

I am trying to make my style set the default style set for Word – but Word won’t let me. Here’s what I do:  (1) I open Word; (2) I go to the Design ribbon and click on the downward pointing arrow in the Document Formatting group; (3) I select my named style; (4) I click on “Reset to the Default Style Set”; (5) I close Word; (6) Word prompts me “Changes have been made that affect the global template …” (7) I click on Save and Word closes.

The next time I open Word, do I see my style set in the Quick Style Gallery? No!

    Where did I go wrong?

    Thanks for your help.
