I’m opening this thread in this forum but issue started in 20H2 very recently,
I upgraded to 21H1 but no luck. I didn’t find anything using Search.

On startup my SP3 is displaying; Use ctl/alt/del or power + vol
in order to enter pin or pswd. At first both worked but now only the power + vol does.

Run netplwiz and User Accts/Advanced Secure Signin box to enable/disable is greyed out.
Has this recently been forced by Microsoft?

Sounds like it’s been enabled via group policy. Is it a corporate/domain machine?

How to Enable or Disable Secure Sign-in with Ctrl+Alt+Delete in Windows 10

        Windows 10 Pro version 21H2 build 19044.1149 + Microsoft 365 (group ASAP)

So, yes the gp setting had to be changed to REMOVE the check mark, the box is still greyed out when I run netplwiz ( User Accts\Advanced) but startup goes right to Logon.

Just to be clear, when I followed your link, option 2, the highlighted “Interactive logon Do not require CTL + ALT + DEL” did not say “Not Defined”. I  changed it from Disabled to Enable.

        Is it a corporate/domain machine?

one of two machines on a home LAN.  Maybe KB4023057 at work.

I’ll have a look at gp.

I’ve personally not seen it with my Surface device.
