A couple of “IT Support” job listings which were emailed to me from Monster.com:
      * “Business Operations Specialist” at the American Red Cross
      * “Standoff Weapons Planner” at the local military base

Those job titles are not what I think of when I think of “IT Support”!

The one which I get the most often, and which is the most random, is an offer to be an insurance salesman! Whenever I get those, I email the person back and ask them if they actually read my resume, because if they had, they would have found that I have done only IT work my entire adult life.

IT support has taken a whole new meaning these days..
Q: support who? A: the business trying to sell the IT equipment or software? = salesperson
      It’s all gone to pot!
Agencies are terrible at descriptions and only want a bite from a CV.
I say to them bite me! if they waste my time sending non-applicable positions 🙂

If you ever get recruited by a company named Logix Guru for an IT job, DO NOT RESPOND! It is a scam.

I spoke to them once, and now they are asking me to cancel an invoice, and that the other six invoices went through. I DON’T WORK FOR THEM! THERE ARE NO INVOICES!

They may be legitimate; if so, they are very poorly organized, and I wouldn’t want to work for them anyway. I’m not going to take a chance and send them anything.

They sent the email from a French email address; therefore, those of you in Europe need to watch out as well.

I looked up what Standoff Weapons Planner is supposed to do, that is just a clean cut job title involving what you might think… I do not know if it those applicable folk are ask to check if weapons are in working order. 🙁

It might be fun to get to watch them test-explode them, if they provide earplugs!
